1992 2.5 liter = Cowl grommets
HI All
Hoping if the 2 rubber lower pan cowl grommets on my 1992 2.5 EFI engine are available though a non OEM supplier. I have made a few enquiries and it sounds as genuine are non longer available. Alternatively has someone out there got a different solution for the same cowl.. images below
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the site. Which grommets are you referring to?

No sparkling wiggles in here, only dump truck grinches.

I used black rubber tubing, put a slice in the wall, go around the hole.

If you’re going to be running the rigging/vacuum tubes for the cables, hoses and wires get these.
Much cleaner set up.

Check with them for fit in the earlier cowl like you have.Last edited by Onetime; 01-14-2022 at 10:45 AM.

A couple of years ago I bought a set of the grommets you’re looking for from Todd Catrett at Evolution Marine. They were available at that point from Mercury.

Nah the alien cowl grommets dot fit the euro style cowl. The alien ones are available in plastic from merc and aluminum from madEFI. As far as 260/promax euro cowls, I am not sure if the plastic part is available from mercury. I will check.
BTW, mercury calls it a "sleeve" not a grommet. That term is helpful if you are scrolling through merc parts lists.

If your still struggling see if you can trackdown somebody with a Formlabs 3d printer and get them to print you some in flexible resin.Last edited by techteam; 01-17-2022 at 08:26 AM.

I found the part numbers on Marineengine.com where they were discontinued and then took the part numbers to ebay and got them there, new in package.
