Pretty cool. I had wondered if that was the case, but I wasn't sure if it was possible. I am officially impressed, that is one helluva boat.

Wow what a boat. Looked like it was on rails. Made ridiculous speed look easy.

I was kinda surprised at the amount of shock/movement to the boat and operator the vids show.

If I recall, doesn’t he have a 32 Doug Wright with 400R’s as well? I know I’ve seen him driving one.

That boat went to Jack in Panama City. He runs with us a lot and is good friends with Hice.

I had the opportunity to run Garth Tagge's boat with him-people that know me have heard this several times. (36 skater with big power-the boat had run 195 before he and Jim were killed). At 150, it was like an STV at 85 or 90 (very stable and felt controlled), 165, it became much more violent (every jar you take is amplified), he continued to run the power up and we were in constant communication (he would repeatedly ask "are you good"), we hit 174 and I told him that I was good and didn't need to see anything higher. We were at LOTO and that was the Thursday before the shootout so there was traffic and some wakes but nothing big. Every bump felt like I was being sidelined with a dummy sack when we were above 170.

This is a big part of why my new boat is being built with a canopy and each seat will have 5 points.

I thought my Skater 28 was fast and spooky until I got in my buddies DCB that ran ~ 150 mph ( it’s actually in Florida now - saw it in one of JPEROG’s pictures ) - this is just insane. While mine is running out of steam after a 100 mph, this will probably throw you back in the seat.

If I could afford to have a boat with the real power I would. I have been in only 2 1550 boats, 1 1350, and many with 1000 horse power a side. Most of them are friends and I see what they spend to feed that crave (its no joke and totally addictive). 100K a year is the norm for big guys to spend annually over a 5 year spread on maintenance and top end rebuilds, drives, propellers, and tow vehicles. (Imagine you could buy a 24 tuff or 28 skater and give it away to a friend every year for what they spend to keep things running), this is another reason the new 4 stroke outboards are in such demand.

The crazy part is that the Kong owner previously had a 438 skater and reported that the 50 is probably 20 mph slower but better in big water...

They are running about the same top end, but the 438 accelerated harder.
