Cutting .250 diamond plate for Trailer side platforms

Its 3/16 Diamond plate - can't edit subject:
Thinking of removing the carpeted trailer side platforms and replacing with 3/16" diamond plate. What is the best way to cut the plate so as to end up with a smooth edge? I suppose if the edge wasn't smooth, I could trim the edges with 3/16" TrimLoc edging material? My side platforms are 8' x 1' and have a curve towards the bow after about 4'-5' of straight run. I have a fairly heavy-duty jig saw but not sure if it will take a 4' radius cut.

I will assume aluminum. Use a table saw or circular saw with carbide blade. I have cut aluminum with standard woodworking equipment for years. Have to use carbide. They do make non-ferrous blades but for the most part they are seriously pricey and I honestly see very little difference. Aluminum will not hurt your carbide tipped woodworking blades. A jig saw will cut it for about 15 seconds then you will be trying to get the aluminum out of the blade. Good luck be careful.

I used the same material for the entire deck of my trailer as well as the step pads.
Cut with a saw as mentioned above then I dressed all the cut edges with a file.
Took a bit of time but finished very nicely with no rough edges……as a side note, any edges that the boat may contact as it’s being loaded we’re framed with carpeted 1” bunk material. If the hull ever touches it there’s no issues.
