Vintage Seebold Restoration - Wild Turkey #64
Still gathering information about this Seebold I have just completed. Finally got some good info today, which I'll share, but would certainly welcome any additional information.
So far ownership was: Bill Fuller #64 Wild Turkey - Orlan Underwood of Winfield Kansas - Steve Dollens, Grove OK - Carl Birch, MD and then to me. Not sure about the order of Orlan and Bill.
Found this picture of Wild Turkey....will add one of what it looks like now (no paint) Hope to run it at Tavares FL March 18-20, 2022
Thanks & Regards,
Roger

Great to see a Seebold of this vintage being restored.
Original picture looks to be a Seebold of late 70's vintage.
Under restoration looks like a late 70's rear cowling mated to a mid-80's forward.

I knew Bill and Linda a long time ago and had dinner with them at one of the venues. We shared a pitcher of sake with them and another driver. Don't remember the other driver's name but he hung around and had more sake. We did not see him the next day. Raced against that boat a couple times at the drags. That picture you posted was their Christmas card one year. I was surprised to see this was a Seebold as it seems I remember ("I remember" that's pretty funny) it being purchased wrecked from one of the European builders. Fuller's Marine has a presence here and I think that is Bill's brother but am not sure. Good luck with the boat. Nice to see the old ones keep on keeping on.

Might wish to take a closer look and read Rock's post. I think that in the picture of the boat running, you'll see it has Burgess cowlings, front and rear. Rock said Mr. Fuller had bought a boat from a "European builder" ... with very little effort you can fit a set of Burgess cowls to a Seebold, and vise versa. Both front and rear cowls, present on the boat now, are correct for the year of the boat.

Based on information from Bill Fuller, he picked the boat up at the Seebold shop and had no cowls or paint. Thus it is likely that he put Burgess cowls on the boat. It's very likely that I received the boat with those cowls. The rear cowl was splashed from another Seebold cowl and the front is correct. The Burgess cowl is now on Jeff Kent's Miller American boat. BTW, both tunnels are slated to run at the March 18-20, 2022 Tavares FL event.

Roger, not sure if these pictures help at all ??
You and others may have a better eye than me when it comes to identifying the hull (the actual 'raw' wood part of the boat in your second picture).
However in my opinion the rear cowl (splashed from a Seebold cowling) sure looks like what Seebold was using in the late 70's and early 80's as per my pictures of Bentz # 241 with Brett May #982 - about 1979(?) and #30 Steve Alison in 1981.
The forward cowling in my opinion looks like the newer cowling used by Seebold as seen on Mike Seebolds #26 - 1985.
I have also included a couple of Burgess mid-80's pictures - Chris Bush #10 & Jon Jones #12.
