Kirchy, I'm with ya .. I kind of throw up in my mouth a little when I hear someone say, I just got my new SR20 headed 565 .. it held 870 pound / feet of torque long enough to go just past 1000 on nuts.
I think saying it bass ackwards started with (purple hair) magazine writers in the 90's. There is a place to use it that way, but even then .. I still say it as ft/lbs ..
On the Chaz grading system :
Ft/Lbs .. you been around the block ... a few times.
Lb/footsis .. purple dye newbie.
Newton/meters ... KIA , Subaru or EV ... specialist.

Ive refrained from commenting but some time I just Cant hep myself. Pound Feet is actually correct. One has to move the weight (pounds) fefore one can move the distance (Feet). The correct measurement is lbf-ft or “pounds force foot”, which got shorten to lb-ft. The metric guys always have it right, when they express torque in terms of Nm, or Newton-meter. Never have I seen meter-Newtons, but somehow foot-pounds became common verbiage… Okay, lb-ft it is then.
