Evinrude 235 Rebuilt
Wish I knew what year this engine is. A clue might be the stop screw that stops against the block at wot. And the ignition coils were factory hard wired into the harness. It is the 2.6 bore. I bored it .030 and used wiesco pistons , completely rewired it and brand new 1 3/8 Carbs all new crank bearings and seals and gaskets. Should drop it in by January fingers crossed for a good break in without any troubles. I’ll be running this 32 to 1 for a while

The model number on the unit comes out to an 87 175 but pretty sure the power head has been replaced.
By the way I have seen the inside of my block and the frost or freeze plug that has the numbers stamped in it does not go all the way through to the water jacket So it is just for ID It is not a real freeze plug

Disagree, finish to size on box, many heat cycles during first 10hrs break-in. Don't over oil the first hrs.

Yeah I've done 25:1 plenty the first couple gallons, no more than that, like 32:1 for the brake in , then 40:1. Lots of heat cycles. Not spraying them or mad rpm and huge race heat soaking but high psi and near lean with good running temp, didn't follow the old school of thought about needing extra clearance, never had issue, just good oil at 40:1 and no stupid abuse.

I have an OMC model number reference. That sounds like a part number, so it may be a replacement block. It should start out with the horse power then letters.
So are the intake ports plunge milled or CNC??
BTW my 80 235 doesn't have water cooled regulator either.
