Jack plate ratings
Shopping around for jackplates, i noticed bobs mj5 conv. plate is discontinued. i see a jpl 4000, weighs the same, looks the same but rated at 150 hp.v4 or v6. i was told a 2.0 150 weighs more than a 2.5 pm. both plates @ 20 lbs, 1/2 ss bolts, look identical. want to mount a 2.4 220 on it, pleasure use only. im thinkin its plenty strong? yeah/ nay?

Have you considered a Hydrodynamics Rapid Jack? They’re light, simple and strong and are easy to adjust. Good value for money too, IMHO.
