Freshwater grand slam. I too would have a hard time drilling holes in that deck.

I had a very similar setup to yours. No trolling motor on the bow but 83 ski boat. XR6 150 on a 15" mid.

    Best prop was a 28 Signature 4blade cleaver like you're running. 89mph at 6700-6800.

Merc promax is also a great performer on this hull try a 27-28p.

Current setup is a steel bore laser 260, 32 promax 104mph at 6700. I think there's more left if I mess with the tune and true up the bottom.

Engine height is unsure bc im running a hydraulic jack 6" set back

    My favorite hull this size.

Good luck with your setup. Looks like an awesome boat

Nice. I dig the home made shifter.. I think your doing pretty damn good for having a 150 and a trolling motor. Not bad at all.
Can you just hold the wheel straight at speed or do you have to drive it? Never been in a laser, not sure if its a pad V or a tunnel boat. I know they made them both ways.

Thanks! It's a LTV tunnel boat, with a pad v and training wheels.
Super easy to drive with the right prop, at the speeds I'm going.

I had a stock 150 ficht with LWP and hydraulic Jack plate that I would go up until water pressure dropped then bumped down a touch I could get 87gps then a 140 looper tight heads and my 1:86 gear case with LWP that I was able to break 85gps with, I loved that boat except for in chop. Ran best flat.

    1985 Laser Bass boat project

Recently picked up this 85 Laser and its setup as a bass boat. It’s got a 1988 220 EFI on the back and my Uncle who we got from said it’ll do over 80 with the hotfoot. I’m updating the electronics and really trying to find out as much as I can about this hull. Glad I found this site!

Cool rig. Don't think I've ever seen one set up as a fishing boat. Send that prop to a good shop.

    Nice ride!
    A little jealous.
Tune up the prop, straighten out the skeg. Should rip!

I don't know how many ltv bass boats were made, still a few left. One in the classifieds section right now.
Laser also made a v hull bass boat.

Maybe if I lost 20 lbs, and got rid of the troller, I could get 80.

The trolling motor costs you 2 mph easily. The batteries another 2-3 mph if 24v.

    I don't doubt that.

I have a Bullet and Champion bass boat also, LTV troller is just used for positioning or short stretches, powered off start battery.

I'll pull the troller off when our ice melts, and see if I can crack 80.
    Edit:.. made 80.7mph no troller.

I too had a Kevlar STV. Had a 2.4 EFI . Went 90 out of the box. Never searched for more. Had the seats stacked down the center. Had a blast with some one in the back seat. Could play around, carry the bow high, and race everyone on a sloppy weekend chop.

One the the funnest boats I have ever run.
