I found a place right by my work that sells all kinds of race fuel. So should I stick with unleaded or can I get leaded?
Said leaded is cheaper and they have more of a selection. Only 1 or 2 kinds of unleaded.Last edited by Merc 2.5; 12-08-2021 at 12:40 PM.

I called the tax board in Tennessee. I told the gentleman I sold a race boat engine to an individual and instructed him to run the engine only on aviation fuel. He was told he was not allowed to purchase aviation fuel for his off road boat engine in Tennessee. He gave me a phone number of a person to contact, I asked him if he could do some research and get me a phone number where I could actually speak with somebody to get clarification. roderick.hulett.tn.gov is his email. He said to email him and he would email someone who could clarify the tax on aviation fuel. You can email him if you like good luck.
Maybe if you take the boat to the airport they may fill it up for you that way they will know it’s not being used on the road.Last edited by Stoker boy; 12-08-2021 at 03:43 PM.

I have always used fuel cans at our local FBO. They have a stand alone fuel automated fuel pump.

Two different fueling stations same airport 1/4 mile apart one said no it’s illegal the other one said you can fill all the cans you want, you can bring your boat in if you want no problem. Most likely people that say no have no clue what the law is. If you ask the person that says no to please show you the legal statute that claims it’s illegal they will tell you, I don’t know. I contacted the owner of the company that told me no and now miraculously it’s OK to fill my cans after I brought it to his attention.
It doesn’t make sense to turn away a customer who has cash in hand especially if there is no illegal activity involved.

Yeah, the airport here (small) near me wont sell me fuel. They say its illegal to sell it to someone putting it into a can. It can only go in planes.
40 miles away at another small airport Kevin has no problem getting it

That's the closest and smallest airport around. I wish they would let me. I'll have to get some at other place I rekon.
What bout the leaded unleaded. Can it run either ? I'll b mixing with 93 pump
Also. What bout the real octane booster stuff? Not the local auto parts crap

Some people like octane booster some don’t personally I have never used it. If you stay around 145 psi cranking you can use pump premium. I’m in California everything here is unleaded.

Octane booster is meh. You can mix up your own high oct with some naphthalene ( moth balls ) but it’s hard on fuel filters. Considering the volume your likely gonna run a few pails of vp doesn’t seem out of line. I used to get av gas many years ago but haven’t tried in a long time either because it became too hard to get
