Should - Alex Baldwin - prosecute and sue the Gun?

I have a question. Don't think I am sticking up for Alec because I think he is a slime ball and can't stand him. With that said I read an interview where he claims he did not pull the trigger, he pulled back the hammer and let it go and the gun fired. Is it possible to only pull the hammer back like half way and let it go and it fires the bullet in the chamber? Obviously there would have to be a bullet already in that chamber since it would not advance to the next bullet if the hammer does not lock in.

The hammer hits the firing pin. NONE of this happens on its own. You pull the trigger or the hammer, it is intent to fire. There is NO discussion to be had.

I can't believe we are even talking about this- firearms have no electronics to short out or cause something to go wrong without physical human input. "He did three very basic things incorrectly": 1. if you own or handle a firearm, you know what it has for ammunition, 2. He either pulled the trigger or the hammer (both show intent to fire), 3. you NEVER aim a weapon at someone you don't intend to kill.

If any of us did this, we would be held for accountability just as he should. You can't kill people "when its your fault" whether intentional or not and just continue to skip on through life without some type of repercussion. Drunk drivers don't go out intending to kill the people they hit but they all pay the price for drinking (their intent), then driving (their intent), then causing death (not their intent)--commonly referred to as involuntary manslaughter.

I watched another video and that guy did just about the same thing with trigger and hammer. Only thing he did extra was to pull the pin and cylinder out just to show you could check to see if it is loaded that way.
