    Show me your rub rails

So I am trying to get ideas for a rub rail to put on my Virage - The hull is a shoe box so not the traditional Hydrostream channel rail - After several hours looking at rub rails online/pictures of boats I kinda got an idea of what I want. I feel the rub rail will change the whole look of the boat so taking time to decide can only help...

Post close pictures of your rub rails so I can see what looks good

I've looked at all of the rub rails from Taco, Barbour, rub rails.com, practically all of the sites, it's hard for me to picture what a silhouette would look like on my boat. At first I thought a black vinyl rail with black vinyl rounded insert would look good, but now I am leaning towards a black vinyl rail with a stainless steel insert...It would help if I could see how these rub rail actually look on a boat

I'll post some of the rub rails I was looking at

Another issue is freight delivery with the 12 foot metal sections
Anyone stock the metal rub rail in the Tri State or NE area?

I was buying 20ft sections, they must be cutting them shorter for shipping, I drove to Miami picked up from warehouse, Google is your friend, any boat manufactures around you? maybe when they place a order they could add yours.
Or call Taco for their Ideas? where there's is will there's a way
I built my boats with the top overlapping lower or shoe box design, simple is good

LOL Yeah. Couple guys and I holy sh***ed the shipping costs. I am probably going to stop by Taco and grab what we need before I head home from Fla.

i was in the same metaphorical boat as you. you have 3 options, pay 300 bucks for freight truck to send you the 20ft pieces, local, or some sort of flex vinyl that can ship in a box like suproflex. i went suproflex simply because i ran out of time. ill post up pictures once the shop finishes it up.

I had the same problem w- shipping last year (and I know it’s even more nowadays)...... The shipping was going to practically double the cost of the aluminum rub rail. So I ended up driving over to Taco in TN and picking it up myself.

Like someone above mentioned, see if you can find a local boat manufacturer that will sell to you.

    Good luck-

This is just 3/4" stainless, replaced the 1-1/2" blue anodized. Totally changed the look of the boat. I really tried hard to find the blue anodized and was led down a lot of rabbit holes before I settled on this. The new MTI's, DCB's and Eliminators are using this but in 1". I got samples of 3/4" and 1" and with my deck to hull fit, the 3/4' laid in nicer. I just tapered the ends with a 4-1/2" grinder and flattened the with a deadblow mallet.

I capped the front and rear of the boat so I didn't have to deal with that mess.

12' pieces, just had the 12' tube delivered to the freight terminal and picked it and let it ride home on the side of my truck, strapped to the passenger mirror and roof rack in multiple places... . Stopped once on the ride home to check it, no issues.

The look has grown on me, what say you?
A problem is only a problem when viewed as a problem...

Barber plastics, needed really thin vinyl backing. Alum and vinyl can look really clean too.

You won't find better pricing, selection or service than this company - https://www.integritymarinecorp.com
They supply a lot of OEM product, and I've found the owner to be extemely helpful and knowledgeable....he even sent some free samples to try on my hull, rare in this day and age.
