Always wanted a Duc and fell in love with the Diavel when it came out. It scratched an itch. The XR is a beast too. Too bad we live so far away from good roads.

And only 540 LB that's 160 LB less than mine with the same HP, can't Imagine, I guess Mom don't ride with you either

Bikes are the best Bang for the buck

The COG group goes to Jennings GP every February, they break into small groups with instructors you run the course for 20 minutes then go to the class room for instruction then back to the course back and forth 6 times, we should make plans, It's a motorcycle only course most of the guys camp out or bring RV's or trailers, It's not a race but a good learning experience, Tommy Dunn who builds Merc drag motors bought a ZG1400 also and said he is going to make It, the club gets a discounted price and provides wood and goodies for the campfire Friday and Saturday night, you can stay for Sunday but that's when the real racers come to the track and It gets hairy with real bike racers passing you in corners with real track bikes (I don't like) and run the course backwards

I've thought the BMW S1000R, might be a replacement for my Aprilia Tuono V4R, but I'm not putting the miles on it, like I used to. Besides, the sound it makes is second to none. Love your BMW, and Duc.

Bikes are like boats, they all do one thing better then the next. The BMW S1000R is a street legal race bike. I have a few that are overlapping categories but the new BMW XR is much smoother then my KTM 1290 Super Duke GT (not as fast), the Ducati Multistrada is VERY close but the XRs inline 4 is so fun to rev. The Ducati 1100S Hypermotard is more of a hooligan bike and not nearly as comfortable to take on any kind of distance run. The CG 1400 is much heavier and falls more into the distance sport combo as does the K1300S that I just picked up. I have been in and out of them all my life but with my son liking to ride now, we will be doing more family outings again--my wife even showed interest in a couple of hers and rode to dinner with us last night .

Joe you still have that wrecked Concours 14? In my book the Concours 14 or ZG1400 does it all for me, It's been ten years now. I recently bought a ZERO S and It will be gone in spring, It's a toy. like riding a dirt bike, but It reminded why I bought the sport touring model in the first place, I LOVE all the wind, dirt etc. protection, first time I took the S a naked bike on a real ride was to the Fort Myers offshore race in Oct. besides all the wind buffeting pushing the helmet I had a sore neck afterwards ( I have bad arthritis ride side of neck MRI) I was getting sand blasted by car tires picking up what ever and me running into it, first time I've wore shorts riding in 30 years, I usually wear full protection, at 67 years young my needs are getting simpler and I have imposed a two week waiting period before large purchases, last year I was thinking of getting what Mark bought because I thought the Diavel was too sexy and the more I thought about It I stopped
Here is a link to that track at JenningsGP http://jenningsgp.com
Have to loose a few pounds to fit back into my leathers

We have a new KTM 390 RC on order for my son to start running at Jennings. We had the Groms over there a few times and ran the 560 on open track days a few times as well. The crashed Concours went to a friend and he is in the process of collecting parts. I just got my ecu back from Ivans for a full Area P system on my new Concours and need to start riding it more.

Those are some nice bikes guys, I had to sell my gsxr after an 83 year old man pulled out in front of me in a school zone and almost killed me lol, but if I had a chance to get another it would definitely be a 1300r or an h2 kawi

I rode an H2 and they are too much for a naked bike-at least on a Busa or 14, you have some protection and aero to help with control. You roll into that H2 hard in anything more then 3rd gear and you better have a plan....

"I just got my ecu back from Ivans for a full Area P system on my new Concours and need to start riding it more." Joe

Area P headers are best for over 6,000 RPM but on the street there are better options.
the tubes are 3/8 larger than stock killing low end torque.
I used 2006 ZX headers, get those babies ceramic coated, a lot cooler, I used heat tape years ago and my Jack Russell was chasing lizards and ripped the collector area up, we should do roll-ons, 3,000 3,500 4,000 I use Steve for my flashes.
Every thing in life is a trade off
OD of the BW head pipes is 38mm, same as the original zx14.

OD of the AreaP is 44mm.

    OD of stock is 35mm

OD of Delkevic is 42/43 mm (depends where you measure)
