2.0 motors were a steel casted part in the sandcast when alunimum was poured in to make the block
2.0 was done this way from the beginning in the late 70s till 2.5 castings of the 90s
not a slid in round steel sleeve like a 2.5 sleeve of the 90s
also only has small boost ports casted ,,,hp 2.0s back then had milled in fingers not behind liner like 2.5
only 2.0 made with all the behind the liner 2.5 goodies was the early 90s 2.0 bridgeport formula 1 motor
gaylen burden did do us a very few 2.0 bridgeport 2.0s he bored and put in 2.5 sleeves
so has a 2.5 bridgeport motor and was a beast for unlimited drags,,,,
production block wise just getting a 2.5 ff block and doing some portwork and cavity work is way less work
and more power over the small intake charge the 2.0 had being enlarged

Great info thanks. I’m still learning about plenty about these motors but I have a couple 2.0L motors and I got to wondering and now I need not wonder a moment longer

Talking to a guy at the Tenn. drag race, Bill Gore built his 260 pulled the sleeves behind the liner port work, ran good for a few passes till it broke

Mike ,
With any luck, you'll have better results with the truth than I did.
