Bleed lines should b in stock locations. Find some wh22s and Carson or dukas (spell?)reeds (Jay Smith) , and as others said, no black boxes , set timing manually

I mean they r good carbs but in my experience they just don't run as good as a set of wh carbs imo I've tried all those other carbs and I'm just a fan of wh carb power. I'd go for wh22s. Wh31s. They have a great idle and hole shot they r pretty easy to find here. Post in the parts wanted section. This is just my opinion take it for what it's worth. Some mite disagree

Sjd, I would do the reeds. Stuffers if you wish. New switch boxes. Yank the black boxes and oil injection. Then play with setup on your boat. Engine height, good prop, etc. you can spend as much or as little as you want to and end up with a great motor. There is a lot of performance in proper set up regarding engine height and props and that type of thing. I would do the basics on your motor and get it running great and reliable and put the rest of my effort elsewhere.

Theres nothin wrong with those carbs, run them.

Most people see the biggest performance upgrade on the intake side of that engine by going from vertical reed front (what you have now) to a horizontal reed front. That combined with fiberglass reeds and reed stuffers will get that bass boat flyin out of the hole.
There's no point (in my mind) in spending money on other carbs until you go to a horizontal reed front. And don't go 7 petal, the 5 petal horizontal reed setup is what 2.0Ls like.

Are those jet sizes good to start with? After we purchase fiberglass reeds for the vertical front can those be transferred to a horizontal reed front later if we can find one and do we have to make any other modification to put horizontal on?
    Thanks for your help.

I will start looking for horizontal then, one thing at a time. Will the horizontal work ok with the carbs i have now till i can afford different carbs?

When adding stuffers, do I need to change anything else with compression going up, such as running premium gas which I already do?
