how to foam between floor and hull

I'm working on restoring my 16 Cee Bee Avenger. the guy before me did the transom and floor. He removed all the foam after he pulled the floor. and didn't replace it. I got it on the water this fall and it feels like it has a bad hook, but the bottom is straight. My thought is that the old foam gave the bottom strength, and without it the bottom can flex causing it stick to the water. So I plan to add foam. I can buy the two part foam, but how to do it? I'm thinking of guessing to the correct area, opening a hole in the floor and pouring it in. or do you remove the floor, add the foam?

If you pour a quart of mix at a time it can be controlled. A gallon pour will get a little crazy. This stuff can bust the hull
I would pull the floor and add stringers if you suspect bottom is flexing.

I need to pull some of the floor to remove the noodles the guy used for flotation..... after I get a look, I might just end up redoing everything. its easy to pretend its all good if you haven't seen it.

He used noodles since the 2 part foam will suck up water like a sponge. Maybe core the bottom for more stiffness.

by core, do you mean glass in a layer of honey core material? On this boat, the area between the floor and bottom was sealed. or that was the idea. he had added a second lower drain hole, so water was getting in some how. I repaired a crack at the bottom joint between the bottom and transom. I'm assuming that was from water getting in and freezing. I like your idea better than messing with foam.

Most marine applications use a closed cell foam or balsa wood core. But that is the idea. Outer fiberglass shell of hull, core material, added inner layer of fiberglass.

I'm assuming that is why they had the foam between the floor and bottom. there is around 3 inches of height at the center stringer. I have no idea of how he reinstalled the floor, or what kind of shape the stringer is in. I need to decide if i want to pull it all apart and do it right, or sell it as is. the boat is all wrapped up for the winter right now. So I get to think about it until spring.

My thoughts on the foam under your floor is that something was compromised and that was added as a band aid. Pouring in large sections of foam does not act as a "core", it may stiffen the hull some. But a core is built into the layup schedule of the fiberglass during manufacturing. A typical core is 1/2". The bottom picture is cross section of a typical Hydrostream.
