    GPS/ chart plotter recommendation

Need to update my machine . What is everyone's choice? It's going in a V21 and a Paramount. Like to have it interchangeable . Like to keep it about 700.

I like the 9" garmin (large enough to read) and a decent price point. You can buy additional chart chips that suit your specific needs or area. Its around 900.00 but they run sales at West Marine and or the GPS Store.

I’ve been searching for a new one myself and for what I want/need, what I’m willing to spend, and mounting options in my boat, I keep coming to the Garmin 63 and 74

    leaning towards the 74

I have Raymarine Axiom 7 and like it. Sometimes i wish the display was a bit bigger (they do make a 9" & 12") but the 7" size fit best in my Grandsport. I have it permanent mounted so cant really speak to the ability to interchange between boats.

Thanks guys. The 9 in Garmin seems to be everyone's choice.

If you have the dash space and budget a 9" is definitely a good choice, you will be zooming in/out less often than you would with a 7". One reason i went with the Axiom was that is is an all touch display with no physical buttons so a nice clean look and smallest possible size with a given screen size due to no space used for buttons. I believe these Garmin options to have physical button buttons down one side of the display. Its really just personal preference.

I'm going with a bracket. That way I can change the unit out between the 2 boats. The 9 inch has touch screen. And easy to see.

I was a fish guide. I have had lowrance for 30+ years. Outlast the garmin by far. Garmin screens seem to be the weak spot. If you get a garmin, remove it or cover it up when not using it. The "hook" series is plain and good.
    Little over 700 bucks.
