Shoutout to Rock and Chaz !!!

I am fortunate to have some communication with members here - Rock and Chaz - over the past few year as I needed some advice to fix my old Merc parts. They have been more then helpful to encourage me to do the work myself, teaching me some of the things to look out for and offering their assistance... They have even gone as far as offering some parts to me that they were kind enough to give away at essentially only the cost of shipping. It is very nice to have people dedicated to this hobby and to help the little guy out !!

We were all little guys once. Helping promote the sport is what this site is about. Us antiques will fade away and it's up to you young guys.

    Rock
It's funny because I remember couple years ago I was messaging you about my lower unit I had to pull the carrier thinking I was way over my head to fix it, not knowing really how to do it...One thing you mentioned is to get the shift cam lined up if you pull the shift shaft - I thought to myself what does he mean, I cant see down there!!??? - After getting the carrier out I knew exactly what you meant and I've opened a few lower units since then every time I look at that cam I think about what you said lol

And thank you for sending the the shift shafts, drive shafts to me from one merc hoarder to another they will collect some dust until the next project lol

Never met Rock but definitely seems like good people. Met Chaz a few years back at the wonderful place called Bass World on the ST John's River. Definitely a good guy. Haven't seen him sense but I see him here.

Seems like a lot of us have banded together over the last couple years when the website was going south. A lot of the old timers have chimed in with their knowledge and really made this site better recently. So thanks to all those guys who have stepped up. Hopefully some of the guys that left will come back.
