You'll have 100k into it to get it right. If you could get it for 20k I'd fill the holes and bracket a couple 300 veradon'ts on it and go the "cheap" way.

Ugh, my credit cards ran away and hid when I saw this thread. A few years ago I had a 35' Cigarette that was a massive money pit after getting a "Great Deal" on it. And that was with a completely structurally sound hull and good interior.

These projects can get expensive real quick. My experience it's better to pay up for a good one than to take on a project. Ask me how I know.

this is how I felt about my good running single big block boat. Between drives and general maintenance it was silly.

Got that right. If I get a boat that’s in relatively good shape I will just use as is. But if some so called “friend” gives me a boat . . . . something in my head breaks and I start spending way too much fixing it.

You would have way more money in it than it is worth Being a 1992 35' is not a very desirable hull. The newer stepped hulls would be worth putting some money in it but I would bet the stringers and transom need some attention. I wouldn't doubt it was an inside theft job just to out from under it.

That could get you a pretty nice used offshore racer before boat prices went through the stratosphere

The stepped hulls are faster, so would that make them more valuable?

Yea the gas comment is the first thing..
Come on a few bucks here and there and a couple electric trolling motors and use it as a sand party barge..
Not my idea of boating but hey wouldn't need to do any glass work except filling the transom..
