1997 mariner 175 efi reed replacement help

    Motor is 1997 175 efi 0g549797
Just looking for a step by step or basic instructions on replacing reeds. Any critical things to do or not look over when doing this? Motor is premixed so when im done do i just fill vst with primer bulb and good to go?
Ordered chris carson sport reeds and the gaskets he recommended while doing reeds.

Welcome to S&F! It's not a hard job but does take a little time. Look around and you can find a PDF version of the service manual for your motor. It will walk you right through it.

Just a thought but might be a good time to service injectors on a 25 year old motor while ya got it apart. Make sure you mark your hoses well when removing fuel injection. Overall pretty easy project.

I use only TDR ( Tony Doukas Reeds ) in every motor I build from 11,000 rpm alky drag race motors to our 5,500 fishing motors for 20 years never had a failure …Call JSRE for pricing and application …
