Louisiana
Ok goin on vacation day after Xmas and we’re headed to Louisiana, been thru there before but never really stopped except for like 2 hrs in New Orleans, my wife wants to do all the touristy stuff in New Orleans which is fine for a day or 2 but I’m looking for a place to rent that has privacy and a water view, lake, river, even better would be in the bayou , I love me some swamp !, we were looking kinda between New Orleans and Baton Rouge but now my in-laws are going to Biloxi to gamble the rest of there money away and the wife wanted to be closer to them so they can come visit soooooo seeing if any of my guys from Louisiana can point me in a good direction ohh and I would also like a good bayou tour company , preferably air boat or swamp buggy that can take us out and show us around that beautiful state

The Tickfaw River is as awesome as it gets IMO. If you bring a boat, it is paradise! Maurepas, Pontchartrain, Blind River... on and on.

The Lakefront area in New Orleans is nice and there are places to rent on VRBO in the Slidell area between NOLA and Biloxi that are waterfront homes.
Enjoy and Welcome to the Bayou State.

If ya wanting to stay close to Biloxi area and NOLA the Mandeville to Slidell area nice. There are the Honey Island Swamp airboat tours out of Slidell. The Tchefuncte River is nice if ya stay in the Mandeville area

According to my brother and his wife go to the WWII museum in N.O.--->https://www.nationalww2museum.org/
FYI you have to have a vax card for a lot of things in N.O.

The mandate requires everyone age 12 or older to show proof of at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine or negative PCR test from the past 72 hours to enter indoor restaurants, bars, gyms and entertainment spaces.
Can't really help you with places to stay.
IF ya didn't know,I hear over at the Audubon Zoo they all ask for you, I swear. Here's a video to prove it.

I love the whole area. Even Biloxi and surrounding areas like Gulfport or ocean springs are very beautiful on the water. If you’re in-laws are going to gamble I would suggest the scarlet pearl. Great casino as well as the Beaurivage

Yes it is true I have never heard of a Gator attack in the lake however as the Alligator population is ever increasing I would not be surprised to hear of them as their food supply tightens up.

I did a wk in NOLA (20+ yrs ago), a block off Bourbon st, walked into it every night.
It was/is one of my favorite vacations of my life!
(It probably helped that my favorite food is Coon Ass and my favorite music is the blues…..)
I love La!
I dont know it much better than that though.
Listen to Paul and maybe try to contact T-Rex, he lives down there and knows the area very well.
Even though we stayed in NOLA, we took cabs out of city and played tourist.
Did a tour through the bayou and loved it!
They did warn us, crime rate is bad out of the city.
Again, 20+ yrs ago but, be careful and aware, w/you and yours.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
