Hydrostream Viper Hull Blueprinting
Working the hull on a Viper for a Vintage JP rig. Fill the tunnel in the pad or leave it? I've heard both, and I am sure Pipkorn had a reason for it.

More info would help. Power used and intended set up would help. I would leave it if it was mine. I did not see your post till now.

Vintage JP is the old APBA OPC J Production class, v-bottom 100ci stock motor. I will have a 150 Merc inline with XS lower unit for it.
Also have an old 14' Allison to be set up as a G Production rig (70ci class). Merc 4cyl 85 going on that.18 Talon/2.4 carb SOLD

I would just straighten the bottom so it's the same side to side and def leave the concave pad.It does give some lift. The hot set up for that combo was a 28p small blade chopper with engine set right on the trans top using 15'' mid. Gave a little over 80 MPH, and handled well not needing much pos trim. Battery and fuel on the transom.

If you have some cleavers try them. Choppers were what I liked due to lower slip and better planeoff with lots of bowlift with little trim. The original 150XS lower has inlet holes on the bottom of the bullet. They don't like a lot of positive trim, won't allow good water flow into them. Need to run the engine level or very slight pos trim.
