Optimax boggs on take off

I have a 2008 pro xs 250 on a bass boat. It has started bogging on take off the past few times out. The plugs wires filters only have less then 10 hours on them. The first take off in the morning is good. Then the rest of the day it don't wanna spool up. If I let off then get back in it most of the time it spools up and off I go. After on plain it runs good. Thanks for any advise.

Welcome to the site. My guess is too much fuel. Starts when cold but bogs after warm up. Once on plane it can use the excess fuel so it runs good. Probably need a tech with a scan tool. Good luck.

Rock thanks for the response. What would cause there to be to much fuel like that?

Could be a bad injector. Maybe an enrichment circuit if an Opti has an enrichment system. That's if it is a fuel issue. I know it's a pain but might be worth looking at the plugs to see if there is a difference from one to another. The Optimax is a more complex system then a regular efi. It's worth a few dollars to get a read out from a scan tool. Find a tech before you damage your investment.

I agree with Rock - scan it with DDT - good basic beginning to hopefully understanding the issue - hopefully codes present pointing to a direction forward - skip this step and you can only guess and go in circles - buy a cheap DDT 500 or so or get it scanned by someone you know or go to the dealer
