Wtb 200 apex
I want to buy a 200 Apex with an offshore clamp assy, 15" or 20" can and sportmaster case with 1.62 or 1.75 gear.

90% less emissions then my 200XS and ‘more then 200 HP’
Do you think they ever will sell them to the public with sport masters? I wish they would, but have no expectations either way

Gotta be the world's most expensive 200hp outboard?
Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

the 200XS ROS cost more then a 300XS at the time and had no warranty. Sales were poor.
I suppose I could second guess Mercury’s marketing, but it’s a great motor and a better choice for my SS2000 then anything else at the time or since.
A 200 APEX might change thingsLast edited by David; 10-16-2021 at 09:24 AM.

How many guys would send a non-refundable 5K deposit if you knew that the end price would be 22K and the little 6 cyl 4 stroke would make more power then any other 200 ever offered? Only speak up if you are ready to write the check-

You might be lonely. The 200XS is working fine.

I guess that answers that. It would bring a new "lighter weight" motor to the market for bass boats and small tunnels. If there is not money in it for the manufacture, then there is no reason for them to build it.

But what would be lighter about what you propose? Compared to the fishing 200. Probably be heavier with the offshore mid.

Not less weight then the fishing 200 but a lot more power and lighter then any other motor making that amount of horse power.

Mercury already has all the pieces to make this a 20" Performance Motor. Drop that APX powerhead on the AMS mid (even the CMS mid would be fine) and put the sporty under it. Done. I mentioned it in the Tuff thread, but I'm surprised no one has bolted a 1.60 sportmaster to the V6 - 225. The mids, gearcases, etc are all the same between the V6 and V8's, so a sporty (at least based on my research) should bolt right up.

I suppose I just don't understand the appeal of this unavailable V6 configuration with the mysterious horsepower rating. A 300R only should be around 40-50lbs heavier and you can actually buy one. Or I think there is or was a 250R V8 if there is some requirement to have less horsepower.
