Some boats like the 20’ Allison’s, work better with lighter motors. The V8 Mercs are too big. A new 200 Yamaha weighs 505 lb dry and lists for $25K Cdn. It makes my 200XS ROS look light and affordable.

Is there a market for a smaller 18-20’ performance boat with a 200? That’s the sweet spot for me.

The 175 ProXS is the least amount of weight and will accept a 300R sportmaster (which I have already). This will be the next step up for him to play with and progress. I believe there will be future parts for the 3.4L that will make it run really well.

I understand the need for lightweight, at least for hulls like my race layup XR2002. An outboard that weighs more than the hull isn't very appealing. To me anyway. But we can keep hoping.
