Monday's Jay Leno's Garage, had the new Z06 to check out, and drive. I was not able to watch this episode, because both Jay, and the GM engineer wore masks,(face diapers), during the test drive.

Normally aspirated 670hp, twin cam, flat plane crank V8 that red lines over 8K. It is a bad boy!

Check out the video first post on this thread. That is no normal V8.

Been going to a few shows all summer and I'm amazed how many very high end new cars and trucks are out there right now. Plenty of C8 around here they do run and drive very well, like the new body lines just not for me. Camaro ZL1 1LE is more of a muscle car for my taste.
Heck, the new GT40 is some car....sounds awesome just idling.

Not laughing. I had a Celica AllTrac Turbo that I used to do some spanking on the autoX courses with! The only mod I did was to grind on the strut mounts to get more camber. Beaten by a Porsche only! First X I came in second with one forfeited run.

Cool with me! Once I get my "new" motor and transaxel, we need to run autoX...

Interesting cause that is what I think of it kinda a modern day Celica. I wish Toyota had made it on it's own but the boxer engine helps with the handling.
    nice Porsche

Yours looks a lot better than a Celica, IMO. I had an '88 and they looked pretty good. Too heavy with all the bells, whistles and horns. 3,400#. The next model change looked kind of goofy. I always wanted the supercharged MR2.

Thanks. I have had it almost 30 years and it has been rained on ONCE!!! LOL!

One thing, the 911 only weighs 2,150 or so. I weighed it at a grain elevator... 20# + or -.... And 200, albeit tired horsepower.. I had the brakes restored, all new rubber hoses...Front and rear vented rotors.. Hell the front hubs are aluminum... So are the twin piston calipers.

I keep thinking a 300hp motor, another 915 transaxel... I missed one the other day that went for $45K... LOL!!! I really should have bought it... It was a rare piece!

Anyway, I agree on the boxer. Subies have that covered. I wouldn't mind a low time WRX! I have a friend that is fixing this up to sell a 914 hybrid... It was his baby, but his wife had a stroke, dementia, etc...

Me driving it. 914 Subie. I am thinking about it... I had to learn its quirks... the shifting... I got better... And I ran it faster than he ever had on this run... Go figure me...

Not sure why the video didn't work before... fixed...

My daily driver C5 Z06 is a hell of a bang for the buck. Modern enough to use every day, old enough to be relatively inexpensive to purchase.
