Vasseret YT
I am running a 1990 Hydrostream Vasseret YT with a 1996 225 PM Motor is mostly stock except 34 cc heads and a after market tuner. The boat has a 4" Bob's hydraulic jack plate with a Bob's nose cone 1.87 gear and a 27 pitch pro max prop. Best speed was 80 MPH at 6000 RPM With the motor up as high as water pressure would allow. According to a prop slip calculator this is 2% of slip GPS speed is verified this seems really good. Any one running a similar setup? I know it's a open bow but I don't want to drill the original hull for snaps. I am hoping to gain some top speed and maybe a better midrange any ideas?

I had a Vking with a 200 and a 27 that would run 78 and that was it but with a promax you have more rpm before the limiter. Id try an easier to spin prop with a little more pitch and see how that works for starters. Big ear 28 chopper or something like that

I was thinking about a chopper or ET do you think a 26 or a 28? Speed is achieved with at least 12 gallons of gas a heavy cooler and two people.

I’ve never run a promax prop but I’ve heard they take power to turn. I would go for the et if you can and I’d get the 28 from merc and if it doesn’t take you to the limiter send it to Dah and have them lab it for more rpm. A buddy of mine ran a 28 et on his 150 black max and was able to get 6200 out of it working with Dah. Or if you want to err on the side of one and done and give up some mph potential get the 26
props are like crack anyways. Can’t get enough of em lolHydrostream dreamin

Thanks for the info I think I will look for a 28 all my props were for my 200 PM Voyager 24 and 22 chopper and a 24 Trophy too small for my new boat. Hopefully a few more chances to boat before the real cold hits.

Try more props, try more setback. 4” is not much for that boat
