    where it started for me

I have been transferring pictures from CDs to the hard drive of my current computer, which of course does not read CDs. Copy from CD to jump drive to computer. I keep getting side tracked by old pictures.

My brothers and I started rowing a small square boat. Then we 'bombed' around in a 14' cedar strip boat with a 3 HP Evinrude. At 14 we were allowed to drive the big boat, a larger 14' cedar strip with a 35 Chrysler. Fast for us.

    1960’s - early 70’s produced some embarrassing photos…….

First came the family 17 footer with a tower of power, had my own sail boat and then my first powerboat, with a Hanimex 5.5 hp.

Fun times, I wish boating was that simple nowadays.

Way. cool. Mine started with an old wooden boat that my great granddaddy made and my grandfather and I would take it out with a 6 hp Evinrude. Some of the best memories I have are from those days

I have been around boats my entire life. The real game changer was when I went for a ride back in the late '70s in a 20 ft Allison with a 235 on it. What a blast. We got up to about 80 mph and that was fast back then. I was addicted after that!

13yrs old learned sail on a 14ft Kolbri at a Summer camp. The next year a best friends dad got a 17” Peterborough with 70hp Johnson, we leaned to water ski and knee board. That lasted 5-6 yrs till I got married. But after 10 yrs of marriage and kids we got our first boat.

Sail boats here... my 10 years older brothers thing.

I had to make friends with the rich kids in order to go water skiing

My mother was a competitive swimmer/diver, my dad was a port master at Subic Bay in the Philippians WW2 he had to go in a small boat to the large ships and climb the netting to discuss their needs, no use of radios because the Japs were listening, after the war he never wanted to go boating again
