I'm still trying to dial this one in. Just put bigger main jets in and shaved the heads. Ill know next time I go out if the jetting made it worse or better over 4k. Either way, I've still got a James perry block to show you the back of my big old triton lol.

Ha! I wish! More like Mr. James aint scared to screw up a perfectly good block lol! I decided to rip this one back apart to attempt the honing again with yet another set of new rings and rod bolts. I screwed up by turning a 500 grit stone though it after the 280. Cylinder walls slicked off before the rings had a chance to wear in. But...this is still a great learning experience. Ill be spending a lot of time on one of these junk blocks to get a better grasp on this honing process. I do have a question for anyone reading that may know; If ive measured my bores and they are straight and round through and through, wouldnt a ball hone be sufficient for the finish since the biggest concern with ball hones is their lack of ability to true up the cylinder walls if they arent straight?

Sounds like its strong. My weekend plans changed at the last minute. Couple neighbors had their homes broken into in broad daylight last week so i spent the weekend setting up a camera system. I made slight progress still though. I replaced the leaking o ring on the top bearing cap of the james Perry block so its good to go now. Just waiting on the CCM head stud kit to arrive to put this other one back together. Ill be on the water this weekend with one or the other.
