, well , made it thru 3 pages of this thread and was tempted twice to tell somebody about their ass. but having better upbringing than that I chose to just keep listening , I guess the best explination here is evolution . from what I can see there are many old flamers out there that just come in and just come in and observe. as far as the sport I believe there will always be a desire to one up the next guy no matter what the platform is . 4 stroke is the the new deal , it's only a matter of time til somebody starts getting Rad with them. parts be damn , somebody will step up and these things will bring crazy power. already herd of a 550 R merc . Fun Out

went to a car show yesterday , " caffine and octaine " , the old "coffee and cars " group has changed to this new group. anyhoo there were about 200 to 250 cars there and only about 10 % were old or old hot rods ,the rest were tuner rides or new hot rods ( challengers n stangs n such ) and alot of young people milling around . when they can make a Honda civic run with old camero's and the like you have to take notice. where I live it's mostly fishing boats on the water followed by family runabouts and some toons , lastly high performance rides and it's been that way for as long as I remember. thats why this site has such an appeal and the gatherings spawned from it . so my point is I like to think that yes , the sport will be around , with that said the 2 stroke high performance hardware will become more and more valuable , like the old saying goes "smoke um if you got um"

Well it should. Why don't you tell who built it?

If I had a car build by Gene Deputy (google it if you don't know him) mine would be running 11's too, probably LOW 11's! LOL!

Paul, believe it or not, I havent met anyone yet, that knows who he is.

    Before their time maybe??

I think if you raised the rev limiter 1k and bolted on slicks it’d run high 10’s.
    Perfectly built, tuned etc.

I remember Dennis saying the Gene was never happy w/the results until he bolted in the 4.10’s.

This thing has ruined me for the ’60’s muscle cars.

    4.10’s w/a 6 speed = 1200 rpm @ 60!

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

That is a great boat to learn on. Easy to drive and very forgiving for a V bottom. I learned on Allison and it could be kind of touchy.

He 'learned' on my 288 sunsation, but, that beast never 'really' got up on the pad like these boats do. He was able to keep that in the low 60's, so he's got a little practice.

I think it's fair to say he's hooked and at least one more go fast boater will live on.

Boat is on rails, reminds me of how my progression would 'lock in' and rip once you balanced it.

He's doing pretty good, 200 fishing motor with noodles for motor mounts.

here's another pass (me driving) 86mph. Boat sets pretty nice.

They remember him on the Foxbody websites. He fathered the 5.0 Patrol. I met him and his wife several times. They were/are awesome. And he used that TA as a daily driver with sticky tires on the back. He made several road trips with it.

He was a computer-engine genius. In the day he had to go to Cali to find a dyno that would hold up to the motor in the Lincoln because he kept breaking them. I think this was his last bad ass car. I would like to find it!
