Hole in mid question??

What is the reason for the hole in the upper left corner of this mid? Noisemaker? Thanks!

Looking at photo I noticed that your motor is rigged with EGT probes. The hole could have been an attempt for 1st location of an EGT. Hole was probably put there as an exhaust backpressure relief for hole shots / standing starts? Kinda funny that there's only one?

Thats just the factory exhaust relief hole that connected via rubber port to stock fishing motor cowls,not fittable to hi-po cowls,won't hurt anything,Chris

Thanks, Chris. If I were to fit an Alien cowl, would I be able to utilize a skirt? I was going to have Ronnie make me one.

A couple owners ago did some drags with it. I'll probably remove the EGT system over the winter. I have no need for it with what I'll use the boat for.

No, alien cowl does not cover up that hole. If you put a skirt on your alien then it would cover the hole but blow some exhaust all around the skirt. Like Chris said, if it bothers you, plug it. It was only used on the bucket style cowls with 2 piece pans.
And, some people cut their 260 skirts to fit that hose, but I see you aren't running a cowl skirt.

I'll let you know when I pull the EGT..... I'll give you a good deal on it. Frank Molè is picking the boat up next week in Missouri and dragging it up to me in Maine. I'm pretty psyched as this will be my first performance boat ��
