Hollywood here is a boating series you will Love to support and be identified with.
At a top speed of 60 mph and with a safety capsule, this E Series Racing should easily be able to attract Hollywood celebrities and mainstream media personnel to compete as drivers. They love to recognize and promote Clean Energy's fight to stop Climate change.
~~~~~
“Mercury Racing joins the E1 Series as Official Propulsion and Propeller Partner. The E1 Series plans to begin racing in early 2023.
The RaceBird was designed by SeaBird Technologies and Victory Marine and features an electric outboard motor, enclosed safety canopy and hydrofoil technology. The boats will be powered by a 35kWh battery from Kreisel and a motor with 150 kW peak power output, with a projected top speed of 58 MPH.”
I saw this in another press release.
Has anybody seen what the trailers look like? Wonder if they use a dolly style thing and transport them in enclosed trailer.
I would imagine those foils slide in or come out for transport. Gonna be a nice smooth ride above the race slop
The pictures of those electric outboards have got to be coming soon. Pretty substantial players involved in this endeavor.Last edited by scott reierson; 09-30-2021 at 05:36 PM.
back in the day I've herd of a wooden hydro hitting a semi somerged beer can and ripping a sponson off. all this hype looks good in the brochure but in the real world , that dog wont hunt.
most overnite successes usually take at least 10 years
yeah, just the thing a boat racing series needs, a bunch of POS hollywood types trying to drive a boat while preaching about the environment. I understand your contempt. But if you want to draw attention to your new business venture, Hollywood celebs is good attention in drawing publicity. And even if the Celebs fly to the race event in private jets (contributing extra emissions).
Wouldn’t you be tuning in to watch some river boat kid beat the “POS Hollywood types”?
Sure I would but I have a feeling John Q. Public will be persona non grata to these races, as drivers anyway.
Can't have a bunch of self important blowhards rubbing elbows with us plebes in the paddock, lol.
Still though, will be interesting to see how it plays out, the boat definitely looks interesting.Last edited by Pulse186; 09-27-2021 at 06:39 AM.
A good start, I hope it starts a series but 35kwh/150kw is not very long but I guess drag cars dont run very long either.
