1994 yamaha 40 tiller handle installation problems
I recently bought a 6x4-2819k-1a tiller for my 40. I bought it new from boats.net. Went to hook up throttle cable and my tiller pushes to accelerate and the motor pulls. Any ideas on how to fix. I looked at switching the gears but looks like it will interfere with the shift. Thanks

Need to buy the correct tiller handle. No way I know of to switch the tiller handle to a pull to open. Been there and tried to do that!

I have a 1996 Yamaha 40. The one that fits is a 63D-W0084-00-4D. Pretty sure the 1994 and 1996 are the same engine.
