We ran out a second time just before the fish camp, 4 gallons wasn't enough from the Glenn.

With the 300XS on my Grandsport, I can cruise 65-80 MPHGPS from the Palatka downtown ramp to Silver Glenn and back [48 miles each way] on just 14 gallons [less than half a tank]. The no wake zone at the Glenn uses 1 1/2 gallons of that.

    how big is your tank?

I always used a small 12 gal race tank and carried a 5 just in case, Just had two saddle tanks made about 35 gal total they will feed a 5 gal surge tank in the center, be my first time with a 300 Optimax always had a 225 OMC on my salt water boat never wanting to subject my 2.5 stuff to salt, I always had range anxiety, when I build in Astor I plan on a 500 gal tank for marine 90.

My rig is far from being fast but it really is a winner on economy. I am waiting on Mercury Racing to ship me back the new 32" Promax prop they Tweaked for me [arrives next week].

I only put 20 gallons in if I had topped it off I would have made it barely. This was the most weight I ever had in the boat with cooler fuel and 4 adults, I also put my 26 on so it got on plane better then my normal 28.

That much weight makes a lot of difference. I would have a very hard time getting on a plane even with just my PP 28" Drag 4 prop. When I was at the 2018 Tennessee Ally rally I managed to make it to a plane with 4 adults and run at 90 GPS, but getting on a plane was very "Iffy".
