Mercury 2.0 1991 150 hp powerhead resurrection help
Due to bad luck and economics I have to use a power head that has not been on a boat since 2000. I liquidated the cowling, brackets, whole midsection including driveshaft plate and exhaust adapter plate. Along with the solid motor mounts. Now my problem is Im using my 1piece drive shaft plate with my 2.4 alien cowling plate. As pictures will show I know the exhaust is a bit smaller than the plate. I can deal with that. The problem is and I didn’t see it until the last minute is that at the bottom of the block where exhaust divider plate and cover is. Is that it sits roughly 1/4-3/8 lower than the block. It will not seal because of this and the stainless plate is not going to be forgiving enough. What are my alternatives. Besides having to get a used 2 piece plate new motor mounts etc. any thoughts would greatly be appreciated
