Glad to see all the help from this community.....Bad Azz!!!!!!!!! Also thank you guys for the parts offers and the people sending money to help out as well! The money is needed to get supplies & parts as we go along and we REALLY appreciate it as we will be able to get nice things for this project to make Dan-O proud! No doubt some of the guys/girls helping will be rummaging through my garage while I'm out sanding on the boat!!!!!

Thank you all for the contributions thus far. We really appreciate all that everyone has done. There are so many cool things that DanO lost in the fire. Some special added touches to the boat would be great too. If anyone wants to donate something that is neat, perhaps has some history, and/or would be meaningful in some way, please feel free. Dan is a collector and lost a lot of neat pieces.
Gonna need little things too like any boater would have. All we have is the hull and that is it. The trailer needs some attention. Anything that would help rigging etc. Perhaps some extra prop hardware (every boater has the box with different thrust washers, nuts etc). We have thought through about 75% of what we need so far and may need some extras to finish the job. If we end up with extra stuff, everything left over will go to Dan to put toward his other projects.

Sorry that Dan0 is going through these tough times.
I feel ever indebted to those who gave some of us the opportunity to meet the Late & Great Howard along with Greg as if it wasn’t for Greg I would have never had known about the history & the great community of one of the coolest boats still out on the waters 30/40+ years after they were built.
If it wasn’t for DanO helping arrange this meeting in a (very big way), I highly doubt that I & many others would have ever gotten the chance to meet these two (in my opinion) Legends. Any help I can do to give back hit me up .Last edited by A-train-97; 09-03-2021 at 01:15 AM.

I spoke with Dan last night for about an hour. He is very sad, but has the right frame of mind and perspective on the matter and has his mind set on looking forward. The wheels are already turning on getting another shop. He did share with me that, unfortunately, there was another mint Vamp that was in the fire in addition to the ones previously mentioned. While unfortunate, it makes this project just a tad more meaningful. He must really like the Vamp's because it is the only boat he had 3 of!

Wish this guy the best. Also wish the Power Tour still posted here, was always my favorite thread. You guys should have your own sub forum you could moderate to keep all the BS out. I gotta dig out my three lakes pics with a couple of the boys changing a flywheel out on the dock, hitting it with a ski pole.

Josh - good to hear from you, and thanks for the offer. Do you have the chrome bilge vents? We may need some other bits as this process progresses. You have any pictures of the screens? I think they are similar to the Vandal but I recall them having supporting rods in the inward sides due to it being a bow rider. Dan's other vamp has the big glass windows which could be transferred, but the lexan ones are just cooler
