Cool to see something different. Love the paint job too.

I think a lot of the negativity above is backlash from feeling like battery/electric/Remote Emissions Vehicles are gonna be crammed down our throats in the coming years.

I was watching the live stream when you ran, thought it was cool to see a small boat run for once and wondered how they let an under 22 ft boat run. We will be attending next year with our Fountain and have already booked the house. Hope to see you there!

It's funny too. Lots of regulars at the shootout told us they were just excited or more excited to see the little 18footer make a pass lol the size requirement is 22ft min so our pass was labeled an "exhibition" pass... yessir see ya there!

I was thinking about it if Mark and the crew where able to cross the border. I was not going to jump into it with zero experience of the whole event and area though. Water conditions look similar to the larger inland lakes here with boat traffic in the mix.

The success of an electric boat is all about the battery, they have to get better by a huge order of magnitude especially in planning hulls.
Perhaps hydrogen fuel cell will beat them in boat power density and lower carbon footprint?

The target still is walk to your tinnie with the 4hp in one had and a days gas in the other which you can do today.

I wonder if they would let antiques run too? Like a '90 Allison bass boat powered by an '80 Xflow?

    Why not?

Thinking of bringing the Howard up next year anyway.
Why don't you run the little trolling motor boat with your Alli? That be fun yes 22ft minimum there's all kinds of classes. You buy your passes.

    Well, this could get interesting…

    https://boatingindustry.com/news/2021/09/02/brunswick-acquires-relion-battery-llc/

@Anthony Cruz , great job on trying something different. I was scratching my head wondering how you got them to let an 18’ boat to make a pass. Would’ve been nice if Bob Teague knew what you were running, would’ve made a lot more sense while watching. Glad to read the details here. Keep thinking!!

Electric modes of transportation were abandoned over a hundred years ago. We knew then that no battery would ever exist that could compete with a fuel source located where the energy was being used.

Tell that to the Model S Plaid, with a 1.99 zero to 60, the fastest ever in a production car, and the Volkwagen IDR with the Pikes Peak hill climb record by over a minute and a half. All electric. A formula E may never beat an f1 car around Monza, but it's engine is definitely a better long term solution. The best engine makers in the world disagree with you wholeheartedly.

We still have horse racing, has more spectators than Formula E
We might all end up driving to a horse race in an EV and all other forms of ICE engined racing.
Racing is interesting to watch because 99% of it has rules to make competition, its not a race to just find the best power source to get from A to B, thats for road transport.
    just saying

Sounds great. What brand/model of electric car do you own? Are you happy with it? I might be in the market, but I don't know anyone with one I can talk to.
