20 years ago a Boat like yours from Texas was the king of Lake Racer in ODBA he ran a Galen worked OMC,
the nice thing about your boat is If the motor cuts out or you back out quickly you won't HOOK like some boats
I tell you having a mechanic near by that you can trust is priceless, where you live boating season is too short so make the best of it, Kudos Captain. We have invented the world; WE see

About the water. I have a 1993 V-21 and after I replaced the rub rail and replaced all the caulk it seemed to fix my water problem. I put caulk on every single rivet and used a good bit on the bottom side of the rub rail at the rear steps.

Looks great!
Moatorboatin, glad to see you enjoying your finally found V21. I feel the same way about my 23 Eliminator Daytona.
Looks like you guys got a head start on winter so it’ll ready for spring.
Keep us posted on the progress.A problem is only a problem when viewed as a problem...

Should not be long and the motor will be wrapped up. @Capt.Insane-o is finishing up the final checks on the motor.
We will see how winter treats us, but I'd like to update the gauges, update the stereo, re-rig the bilge in a slightly cleaner easier to reach everything fashion......and the trailer could really use a hug. None of the remaining items once the motor is finished are 100% required to enjoy the boat, so we'll get to them at our leisure while enjoying it.

Sounds like you have acquired a boat that you will enjoy more then any of your past rigs. Looking forward to seeing complete and making you smile-

Little update: Had a ball last year with the 200 on the boat. Picked up the 280 over the winter and am back to the original fuel system. Would like to re-do my fuel lines and looking for suggestions. 'Original' rigging to my knowledge from previous owner. 1999 Triad w/1999 280. Current set up: Tank --> Water Separater - Pump (believe to be a bosch 984 or 044 style, can confirm if needed) - inline filter - fuel rail, return line from motor goes back to tank.
I read this 100 times: http://www.diamondmarine.com/web_pages/Fuel%20System.htm
At the very least I am looking for the following:
1. Recommendation for Water Seperator base part # - I think I have the 1/4" inlet (tank to seperater base) diamond mentions and would like to find a base that accepts the merc filters.
2. Fuel line recommendation?
3. Pump low in boat - mine is almost even with bottom of tank, can't get it too much lower, close enough?
4. Inline filter after the pump, from a packaging standpoint it would be a lot easier for me to put this in the cowl/pan instead of in the bilge the way it is rigged. Is there any reason I can not do this?
Lastly, can't tell what pump is used in this kit, but it appears to provide enough GPH and PSI - anyone tried grabbing a kit like this to make things easier? (not sure if that fuel line would be acceptable to use)

Any and all suggestions appreciated.Last edited by moatorbotin; 05-16-2022 at 11:49 AM.
