The Scorpion props run about 3” higher in pitch. Really stiff. Bow lift is pretty crazy.

No matter what prop you use wont change a thing !!! It’s the Pad !! Get a streaight edge aluminum
1x3 and I guarantee there is a 1/4 Hook in it !!6 years ago Bill @ Marine Specialty’s in Largo Fla got a little giddy it 2ft chop and delaminated some of the fwd step those boats are a ight layup we re did the transom with coosaboard nodacored the deck turned the boat over and fixed the Bottem tha boat prior to any work would only go 70 with jack plate 200 2.5 cle lower 24 chopper after the work 80 + with a 26

Update**

Hi everyone,

Thank you this should be the last update until i can do a cone and raise the motor approx.4" over the winter. I had it out yesterday evening with my fiance and we ended up at 83MPH with the tach showing approx.5600 rpms. I still had a bit more trim(I put the wedges in) and a bit more throttle on the pedal. Must of been a bad trophy prop i had gotten but at any rate i will not be pushing it any further until it is better setup as it is a handful at 80+ and difficult to set back down as i do not have trim on the wheel which i will need to do.

The good news with this prop is my gas mileage cruising is through the roof as we seem to be cruising in the 2100-2400 RPM range for the most part.

Thanks for all the help i will definitely be going over the bottom of the boat, recore again myself this time, setup etc. over the winter and than try again next year in the mean time just enjoy it!

Update*******

No longer need to search for props, wedges, jackplates or worry about the stringer as this weekend driving back with a friend and my fiance in the back seat sleeping the transom fell off... Luckily we were going slow just cruising at 2500rpms. But needless to say the motor fell down transom ripped off and boat sunk within 30 seconds.

luckily I was able to turn into shore and it was only about 7’ deep so got everything out

waste of 7 grand I paid for the transom, “core” and floor. Was the 4th day on the water since all the work was done…. I’ll post some pics when I figure out how but the new transom which now I can clearly see was fastened with deck screws to the two knees on either side…. Hard to explain until I get the pics up.

I won’t say who did the work as they are being served today or tomorrow not sure as I did not get an update on that end yet. Most upsetting part is I have about 13g into the 250xs between purchase and rebuild and the money on rigging as well 3 weeksish ago is gone now….

The motor should be ok if it didn’t hydraulic lock. You’ll want to get the water out it as afnp tho to prevent any rust from setting it. That is crazy man. Please post pics, lots of em. In fact you might want to start a new thread about this in the fiberglass section you’ll get the most traction there with replies

If you go on the Fastboats Canada Facebook (ugh) page and ask you can get some recommendations for repair. It’s very sad what happened to you. Do get the motor died/checked up right away.

Well that certainly sucks. Sorry to see your boat in that condition after you paid good money to get it re-cored.

Your fortunate your in one piece I can only imagine how that would have gone for you if that tore off at 90mph

Looks like the inner glass was cut off, new ply was laid in onto CSM using the motor bolts to clamp the ply to the transom and then it was gel coated only on the inside instead of glass, which it should be, and structural glass not CSM. That edge filler idea for squeezing in wood core on the edges with a step to bond? Is kinda weird too. Ive seen people do the s cut or puzzle piece cuts for this but regardless that left a sheer line that was not supported on the inside of the transom where ALL the load goes under power. Crap, no matter how you slice it.

Hopefully you get your $ back and really this guy ought not to be redoing any performance hulls moving forward hes going to kill someone. That said as well I am no expert at any of this but I can say to do a right good job? Take a LOT of time and patience. I wouldn't even want to say what I would have to charge to do this properly and hope to make enough money to eat.
