18ft Laser ltv 150 black max 60 mph???

I'm running a 26 chopper at 6000. Is this in the ballpark for mph? Was running 64, I added a torque tamer and tried regular instead of premium. Can't believe that would take away 4mph!

Welcome to the site. Formula is RPM x gear ratio x pitch x .0009469. Assuming 2:1 gear and 15% slip you get 63 mph. Different gear ratio and different slip of course different results.

Thanks, I've seen a couple different formulas for the rpm x pitch. So I guess I'm close to where I'm supposed to be.
Still don't understand where I lost that four mph. Going to run premium next time out and see what happens. Ultimately
I'm going to put some more hp back there.

From spring air to summer humid air will require different jetting for maximum performance. Just going from premium to regular 4 mph sounds like a lot.

Pretty much same conditions as far as air and water. Only other change was the torque tamer.

Torque tamer could slow it a bit too.

Took it out today, drained the regular and ran premium. 60mph at 5800-5900.
Did squeek 61 once. So I guess take the torque tamer off and try again!!

I used your formula, and the result amazed me. 5,700X.54X19X.0009469X.85=47.07 MPH. Both my stainless, and aluminum, 14-1/2X19" had the same speed.

Took it out with the torque tamer removed. Didn't really gain much if any! So I don't know where the 4mph went. I'm using the same gps as I was before so I guess it is what it is. Sucks though!! Lol. Anybody know what this rig should weigh? Tried a search and didn't find anything. Thanks

On mine a head gasket was leaking water into the cylinder. Compression tests didn't show any problem so I kept running it... trying to figure it out where the 4 mph went like you are... until is seized up.

Let's just go ahead and make America great again!

Hope that isn't the problem. Didn't the water show up when you did a compression test?
