Charger 18dl 150 efi mercury hydraulic lift, Prop choices

I use the boat for skiing and running around. Does 57 with Yamaha 13 3/4 x 21 black stainless semi- clever at 5900-6000, not a great deal bow lift at start. Currently running Yamaha 14 1/2 x 23 pro stainless with rectangular factory holes. Does 59-60 at 5600. Comes out close to as well as the smaller prop,a bit more bow lift, but does cavitate just as bit as boat plains. I was thinking of closing holes, but not my prop. With the 23 goes 2-3 faster at any given rpm. Any nerd props that would perform better? Open to suggestions.

That boat likes big ear, chopper style props for running top end stuff.
    My 18DL / 2.4-200 combo ran 80 @ 6000 +\- with a 28 merc chopper.
I’ve got a few 24”-26” options you can try.

Went out yesterday. Ran the 23 prop, made 61-62 on gps reving 5500-5700. Have jack plate raised up 1 inch at time till gained rpm but lost speed. so tat is all I’m going to get. Still comes out of hole great. I think this is best she will do, not sure how some guys are getting 60 plus running 115 hp.

It’s all in the set up. I’ve got a 75hp that’s almost at 60 now. Started in the low 40’s lol

Its small, its a 14' Vandal with a 24p small ear chopper thats had some work done to it. I mentioned it because it was a slug and I bought another motor to rig on it but started playing with the set up and the thing came alive. Its pretty exciting considering its dancing all over the place now its the rubber mounts that are limiting it not the power. I did not think it would go nearly as well as it does now. worked the set up, got results

    Try a 24” Merc chopper.
should get you close to 6k and should carry the nose well.

I've got an 18SK that had a 150 XR2 on it until last year and it skied well with an old QS 23 Laser #48-11074A40. Good hole shot, holds well in turns and responds very well to trim. About 58 MPH I think with the engine on the transom but that's with a bow tank, so the DL should beat that. I tried the smaller diameter Vengeance but it didn't hook up as well.

Looking for Yamaha painted stainless 13 3/4 x 23 do they make such a prop. Have one that is 21, works great, not too much bow lift except revs to 6000 at 56mph. Tried a pro series 14 1/2 x 23, works well 61 mph at 5600. Only problem is have to run motor trimmed down at cruising speeds otherwise it will porpoise, this does not happen with the black stainless. Yamaha says pro series is great for bow lift, I don’t need have hydraulic lift with 6” setback.
