That’s not a lot of motor for that hull. There’s probably 10mph or maybe a little more to be had with that power level on that thing. A 24p small ear chopper with some extra cup might work ok on the lower end of cost. A trophy or a tempest might work good. I don’t think I’d try to turn anything above 26 pitch but ya never know til ya try it. All about how much time you want to work at it and how many props you want to try to find the one you like best. My pile has grown past 20 now lol and I’m small potatoes compared to many around here in terms of prop count

might have some luck raising the motor a hole or two but you have to keep your eye on water pressure.

Do you have the small 4.25” gear case with the 1.78 gears? V bottom or tunnel? I’d buy a used Trophy to start either way

I had a 84 voyager with a 200 pro max with a 6 inch Jack Plate. My 24 trophy ran about 65mph I also had a small ear 22 pitch chopper modified and big ear 24 pitch chopper both ran between 69 and 72 mph depending on conditions smaller pitch revving higher speed about the same. That high 5 may be dragging it down. Have you checked compression done a leak down test ? I would think at least low 60 with your motor.

Tempest has a lot of pitch options. Keep your eye out for one of those too. I had to look for a while to find the 24 small ear they are getting old now and lots of em are smushed. Yamaha drag props are nice too if you find one. Happy hunting

The Tempest hub is to big for the XR4 gear case. I used to get around 70-72 with a 24 Laser on my Virage/XR4, so I think less then 24”

My vote is a 22 Trophy to start. Or the 22 RE4 that is for sale here

Oh dang I forgot the small case. Even more reason to go chopper imo. Ive got a couple lasers, meh not enough holding power although good holeshot and ran ok, just not exciting nor able to lift the hull much. I have a RE27 thats runs good, that would be fun, and the 22 would probably rock as im sure youd spin a lot more RPM if you get the engine height right
