shopping for 300-8M0077471, any descent aftermarket, or best to go pricey oem? thanks.

I know they are pricey, I go oem. Might try DB electrical, had good luck with their stuff. Never bought coils there tho.

I know this post is a yr old but I have a question about the coils. Is there any reference to using this 1-amp coil on an older Optimax 135 which used the 3-wire inductive coil? I realize that the old system used the ECU trigger - cylinder head ground - and Power. The wire would need a sensor ground ( i could pull that from the tps ) - Battery Ground ( pulled from the starter ground). Has this been done or could you foresee a problem?

DIY Autotune has the same coils without the built-in ignitor... for either inductive or CDI ignitions, if that's what you're after?
