Trailered Boat (fresh water only) Race Boat Bottom Paint

Any suggestions for this? Just use gel coat?

Just use flat black primer and wet sand. Slicker than snot and no brainer to touch up. Gel coat is too much work!

Thank you, simple and straightforward. I'll be using epoxy if anyone has suggestions on which brand they prefer.

What is on it now? Are you talking about the entire bottom or just the pad?

It is a 1977 hull so probably polyester resin.

I will probably do the entire lower hull if I can manage to get access to it.

I will probably be fixing dings and doing general maintenance so a recoat is probably in order
