That is about the CLEANEST one I have seen in years. The model is called the Classic and it is a second generation of the model. The first generation of the Classic was produced starting in about 1973 from a Sidewinder mold that we bought out of Vancouver (see attached) Much later we redid the whole boat, especially the deck and produced it for a few years as both an OB and IO Cougar Dave This one looks like a steal

Wow, too cool Dave, ironic that I didn't know any details until I went to sell it after 4 yrs owning, I did much general searching online but uncover little to nothing.
Thanks for the history tidbits, I'm not seeing the resemblance with the "Classic" in the left pic but spot on for the 2 in the other pic, less the tunnel bottom.
Kind of a sad day made worse by all you guys that know some detail and now make me feel like I should have my head examined for selling it.....giving it away???? Crap!
You don't what you got til it's gone.........
    Sold it earlier today-

Ain't that the truth. Once its gone one wonders if it went too cheap (sellers remorse it is called) The brochure showing two boats are actually your model up top and a totally different one ( A Vee tunnel called the "Omega") The hull of the first Classic (bottom) was straighten and then a whole new deck was made to make the model you had.

I have been totally fascinated by your Cougar and was trying to figure out a way to get from Ontario, Canada to Washington state.
I presently have a Cougar 19 tunnel and really would have liked to add yours to my 'never can have enough boats' wish-list !!

Your boat looked like it was in immaculate condition.

Nice looking boats, post a couple of pics.

If anyone is trying to decipher the ‘five tree sex fantasy’, give Ken a call, his phone number is in his previous post.

Sold 8/2/21 to a local boy in Crescent Bar, WA (For all you Easties, That's on a long stretch of the mighty Columbia River in the Deserts of Central WA, Screamandfly!)
    But now I'm really sad......
    So which boat is next???

Is this possibly the one and only? I'm sure it's not but.....I've searched high and low and can not find any evidence of another one anywhere.
Somebody out there has just got to have this amazing Cougar! All original except the Merc, it had a 150 Black Max on it before this 225 Opti.
I've got no patience for ads saying the item is "rare", it's usually BS, but in this case it seems it may really be rare! For whatever that's actually worth....
For Sale- Cougar Custom Boats 18’ “Ski Machine”

This Is a Hand Laid, Very High Quality Custom Made Boat Produced In Salmon Arm, BC Canada.
No Paint Or Repairs Anywhere, no beach rash on keel, I actually think it's spotless under there, I'll have look/verify.

Thick Gel Coat With 4 Shades Of Gray Graphics.
This hull is no Hydrostream (as to weight and strength), I haven't weighed it but suffice to say it's not a feather weight hull but it's not a tank either.
It's very impressive how well it's put together, attention to through detail and quality.

    · Original Factory Trailer Also Made By Cougar.
    · 2004 Mercury 225 Optimax With Smart Craft Electronic Gauge
Package, Mounted On a Bob’s Machine Hydraulic Jack Plate.
Mercury Trophy 25 Pitch 4 Blade S/S Prop.
304 Hours On The Meter, Stock Motor/No Mods, Maintenance Current. Hynautic Hydraulic Steering.
    · 2 Covers- White Snap On Cockpit Cover and Whole Boat Moorage Cover. Cockpit cover is usable but aging/needs to be remade soon, moorage cover is good but needs a little re-stitching in a few places.

    · Chrome Ski Pylon.
Floor is 100% rock solid, the way everything else is put together on this boat I'm sure Cougar wrapped it in cloth and twice coated it with resin.

    · Comes With Everything Needed To Get On The Water (legally and conveniently/well equipped)
    · Amazing Great Condition For A Boat/Trailer Of This Age.
Always Been Stored Inside Or Covered Parking.
I’m It’s 3rd Owner. Boat Originally Purchased From Pierres Dock Coeur d'alene ID.
    · Must See To Fully Appreciate, Guaranteed No Disappointments.

    · In Current Trim This Boat Is Good For Right At 75 MPH And Very Stable, With Some Further Trim Adjustments It Should Do 80 Or Better.

If you're really serous I can email you more high res pics.

    $11,500 OBO
