Charger dl18 with 1999 mercury Efi 150
Just purchased this boat, seems to run great. Has a stainless prop black 21 inch pitch. Goes 57 mile an hour on gps revving 5700 tried tempest plus stainless 23 pitch same mile an hour revving 5400. Ordered Chris Carson reads for it and will get the injectors checked at end of season by Brucato. It was a very hot day mid 90s with high humidity. I’m going to check the timing and not sure where to set it at, would like to run 87 fuel so probably should stick to 20° total? I’ve read it on other sites that guys are getting 65 mile an hour with a 150 EFI on the same boat mine wouldn’t turn the 23 tempest no matter how I trimmed it or raised or lowered the jack plate.I’m open to suggestions from anyone. This is all I’m going to get with a 150 FI I’m fine with that.

Do you have a jackplate? My brother does not on his DL. It goes 73-74 with a 200 Johnson. Some height and setback helps.

Took prop off and has 13 3/4 x 21-m on inside hub and only marking on outside is 21-m. Best I can figure is it’s a black Yamaha steel prop. Guess I need to start shopping for newer mercury prop.

I've been told many times that those Chargers love chopper props.
I tried my first chopper last week on mine and got my first blowout. Not sure how fast I was doing but will do some more testing next of weekend. Thinking of dropping my motor down another half an inch.
