STV Pro Comp 15 inch 280 ready for test run

I've been working on this for past few months. Or at least waiting on a cut mid (much thanks to Michael Chapman in Elloree SC for the cut mid) and cut driveshaft (Kenny Anthony with Black zmagic Racing). Just got it all put together and hoping for a shakedown run this weekend.

Really looking forward to it. I haven't run a small fast boat since late last summer. Click image for larger version.

Thanks Fever. It has a couple pretty bad paint gouges I'd like to fix this winter, but overall she's pretty clean.

Looks interesting - where you starting for height on prop shaft.

I started mine at 3/4 " above to start and have just moved to 1-1/4 - water pressure fine 10 psi as you crest 60 - and climbing - 140 degrees temp at sender . I have similar setback as well - Hydro D , 9 inch manual with offshore clamp +2 " so it's back there .
Anthony Santocono - 1 3/8 " mentioned a couple weeks ago . Hope this helps

I'm about 1.25 right now. I'll see what my pressure is and adjust from there. Unfortunately the jack plate doesn't have a mechanism to manually adjust other than loosen the slider boats and try not to let it fall all the way down. Will bring a small floor jack to assist. Hoping its ok where it is. When I mounted the engine, the lower was not on it so it was a big guess. Turned out to be pretty close.

    I think your right -
I doubt you'll need a jack if that's your height . I think its safe as a starting point . You may be able to Move up since its got a plate on it but good spot for usual quick to plane out of hole and feels relatively quick - very little torque steer on mine . Suspect you will find similar . Anthony S - stated that height and similar setback as being efficient with his .

Lake neighbors are gonna "HEAR" about it. We are new on the lake. So they'll need some time to acclimate.

Pro Comp was my first fast boat (above 80 mph), my son has one now as his first "fast boat". You are going to love it. If you look down the inverted Vee from the bow looking to the aft, have your motor trimmed to neutral, set your height so you can just see a little bit of your water pick up. That will get you where you need to be height wise. Know where neutral is at on a trim indicator (flat is fast with an STV-you are not in a mirage). Have fun, practice your deceleration distance, and wear a jacket.

Thanks Joe, I thought you may have said this boat used to belong to you? Or maybe it was Fuji? I installed a mechanical trim gauge. Used a uflex paddle trim which will take some getting used to. Upper and lower control both can be used to trim up or down. It's more of a forward or backwards push to trim instead of up and down. So gauge will be good to know exactly what's going on. Will do a thorough bolt check before it goes on the water. Its all new uflex steering helm and ram, powerhead on different mid etc. So need to check everything over again for sure.

You can go up another 1/4 for sure but it will handle better in chop where you have it now.
