We've got good news and bad news on your drive. When we drained it. Well, we didn't actually have to drain it. Anyway, we found some metal shavings. We also found blacktop. We think you may have run it dry. No problem though. We're going to put a few new parts in it and touch up the case and skeg. She'll be good as new. If you don't mind me asking, how long has your wife been driving your tow vehicle?

Wowza. Just to be clear, the RV wasn't in park. Haha. Insurance company should be able to play the dumb axx card and walk away.

I've actually seen this scenario first-hand at the Johnson/Evinrude dealership I used to work at. A family had towed their 16ish foot ski boat with a 70 Johnson hundreds of miles to the city. The motor had only been partially tilted, so they had not engaged the tilt lock. The trim system had a slow leak and it gradually bled down during the trip. They only noticed it dragging once the skeg was ground away, and the forward gear's bearing race was shooting sparks that other drivers noticed and flagged them to stop. Insurance bought them a brand new gearcase lol......
