SRX Prop on Mercury help

I just bought this SRX, and I can’t figure out what to do about the Locknut. The washer came with the Prop, but what Nut do I use? There is only 3/4 of the Threads sticking out. I had one of these Props back in the 90’s, but can’t remember what I used as a Nut! Any help would be great. Thanks- Jason

Ran this on my STV/280/SRX until I sold it in 2005. Also I would put 1 drop of red Loctite on threads just because I'm anual(LOL)

I have heard of guys just getting a shallow 3/4 - 16 nylock nut from the hardware store. I have cut a merc nut in half as well. make sure to check it every so often.

I found the thin nylock style jam nut at a specialty hardware store and it worked fine on my SRX on a Merc. I ran a thinsteel washer underneath the nut.
