A Naples physician has pleaded guilty to three counts of dispensing controlled substances for no medical purposes following a federal investigation that began in 2019, according to authorities.
Dr. Gerald Michael Abraham, 76, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison on each count, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Abraham ran a cash-only basis clinic in Naples where patients paid $400 per visit, the agency said.
His clinic is at 11983 U.S 41 N., Suite 120, according to multiple records.


Investigators traced proceeds from his activities to multiple luxury vehicles and hundreds of thousands of dollars, all of which the government seized.
In connection to his plea agreement, he will forfeit nine vehicles. They are a 2020 Acura NSX, a 2020 Porsche GT4, a 2021Toyota Supra, a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette, a 2020 Aston Martin, a 2020 Nissan 370Z, a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro, two 2020 Ford Mustangs, and $190,496 paid toward a 2021 Aston Martin, according to the Justice Department.
In addition, the federal government seized $249,598 in cash, according to the agency Florida was considered the nation’s “pill mill” capital for many years when pain clinics for easy access to addictive controlled substances fl�ourished starting in the late 1990s and over the next decade. The easy access contributed to the opioid epidemic until lawmakers passed legislation and authorities prosecuted pill mill practitioners.
The laws included a prescription drug database to monitor who gets pills to catch ‘doctor shopping’ and


created tighter regulations on pharmacies and doctor’s practices.
