    solid mounts that dont fit

ive thought on this all day if i was gonna post this or not but if it saves one person from goin thru the frustration and time lost from my experience with solid mm bs than its worth it.WHY cant a certain businesses solid motor mounts come in the right dimensions so they fit correctly and dont cause major leakage problems .WHY is this some big secret that said mm need to be further machined to fit properly? not all of us know everything and while i dont always mind learning from mistakes, this is just stupid and very easily avoidable by just making the damn things the correct size. or at least disclose on your website or the instructions that further machining required.but i think the easiest solution is to make them the right size to begin with.can someone enlighten me please?

Since I just bought a set of solid mounts I'd love to know what brand or manufacturer you're talking about...

If you look at your old mounts, you’ll see the the long ends go to the inside of the plate. They’ll fall right in, and work right the first time.

I know what you are talking about tho. If they rock, they are in backwards. Flip em, and they’ll set down nicely.

Yep, been there and done that. They "look" like they will fit either way.

Heres whats happening, opened up the plate as you can see in pic, side to side rocking is pretty much gone but front to back is still unexceptable . Fogged some paint on mounts and fir top plate on and you can see where they hit

What’s the deal with the washer stack up between the two mounts? Does the gap favor the side with more washers on it?

So I've got no experience with this -- but from your pictures it looks like those should be reversed. There's clearly a taper on the left side of the mount and the right side of the housing has a taper. The right side of the mount appears to be longer which would fill the gap that I see to the left of the mount. No?

No. both sides are identical. those are two different motor mounts. the one on the bottom has more taper and is missing the enlarged surface that makes it fit snug

Post this on technical discussion. Doesn't look like your bolts are tight either
